Oven and range repair in Charlotte, gas and electric
Charlotte kitchens cook on both gas and electric, and we repair both. Ovens get pushed hardest around big holidays, often right after a self-clean cycle run the night before the big meal.
Before Thanksgiving and other big meals
The self-clean cycle runs the oven very hot for hours. That is when a weak thermal fuse, door lock or control part is most likely to give out. If you want to clean the oven, do it a week or two before a big meal, not the night before.
Test the oven early too. Bake something a few days ahead so there is time for a repair if the temperature is off or the oven will not heat.
Gas ranges
A gas oven that takes forever to heat usually has a weak igniter. Gas burners that click and will not light usually have moisture or food in the burner. If you smell gas, leave the home and call your gas company's emergency line or 911 from outside.
Electric ranges in older homes
When a newer electric range goes into an older Charlotte home, the cord and outlet need to match the house wiring. A burned cord end or a scorched outlet behind the range is a reason to stop using it until it is checked.
Oven and range repair in Charlotte: questions
My oven died the week before a holiday. What should I do?
Book as early as you can and tell us the date you need it working. In the meantime, check the breaker and make sure the oven is not in a lock or delay mode.
Do you repair wall ovens and double ovens in Charlotte homes?
Yes. We repair single and double wall ovens, freestanding and slide-in ranges, and gas and electric stoves.
I rent in Charlotte. Can I book an oven repair myself?
Yes, but check your lease first. In many Charlotte rentals the owner is responsible for appliance repairs and may want to approve the work or pay for it directly. Landlords and property managers can book with us too.
