The pond that gave Dry Pond its name
Dry Pond took its name from a small pond that once stood where NC 16 Business meets Campground Road. Denver was an incorporated town from 1877 to 1971, when it gave up its charter and became part of unincorporated Lincoln County again.
Because Denver has no town limits today, people use the name for a wide area. The 28037 ZIP code reaches from the old center out to the lake and up to the Catawba County line. We cover all of it.

Denver homes, by the numbers
The Census Bureau counts Denver as a small area of about 6 square miles around the old center, with about 2,500 people in roughly 1,200 homes in its 2020 to 2024 survey. That area covers only about an eighth of the land in the 28037 ZIP code, so many homes with a Denver address are outside it.
Inside that center, the housing is mixed: about 54% of homes are detached houses, about 24% are duplexes and small buildings of two to four units, about 10% are townhomes and about 8% are mobile homes. About 55% are owner-occupied, and the median home was built in 1992. Nearly all homes there heat with electricity.
Out by the lake, homes are often larger and farther apart, and some run on propane instead of natural gas. Tell us whether your range or dryer is electric, natural gas or propane when you book, so we bring the right parts.
